Jean-François Aubin

Abstract

The social and solidarity economy is emerging and growing all over the world, assuming different forms in different contexts. In this article Jean-François Aubin addresses the increased role that the social and solidarity economy can play in processes of revitalizing territories in a difficult socio-economic situation. The example of Trois-Rivières, a small Quebec town and formerly an industrial area, concretely shows the new aspects of this revitalization strategy which integrates social, economic and environmental dimensions.
